Europe Latest

Western Europe turning colder from Friday through much of next week, first low elevation snowfall?

After weeks of seemingly ‘no weather’ to speak of across Europe, a simple seasonal advancement with expansion of cold to the north and the gradual break down of the central Europe ridge now sends persistent wild Atlantic weather across the UK and into Scandinavia bringing blinding rain and hurricane-force winds which have been generating huge sea swells and brought largescale power loss to areas.

Tupelo, Miss.

  • Only 3 days with measurable snow (0.1 inches or more) in November since 1930.
  • Last November measurable snow: November 7, 1991.
  • Snowiest November day: 1.5 inches on November 24, 1938.

Birmingham, Ala.

  • Only 4 days with measurable snow (0.1 inches or more) in November since 1895.
