We are well into a much more stormier pattern which will take us into the final month of 2011. Since dinnertime last night, rains have been heavy and persistent, practically nonstop right through to this afternoon in places. This amount of rain falling on already saturated ground only means one thing, a travel nightmare both on the roads as vehicles get stuck on flooded roads, as well as on the trains and the Glasgow subway (flooded tracks).
Not only was it the heavy, torrential rains which lasted for hours but it was also the wind which caused problems as gales battered Southern Scotland tearing down trees in places and that gusty wind simply made it so much more treacherous to be out and about today across Scotland.
