A record cold night ahead for the Midwest and TN/MS valleys under clear skies, light winds and a air mass that originated over northern Canada. A remarkable feat tonight since it’s the height of summertime. I believe many areas will take a run at freezing by morning and places like Minneapolis will drop into the 40s tonight…. AMAZING!
Today was likely the last day in which the 90 could be achieved in NYC this month. Remarkably NE Iowa is at 59 degrees whilst the upper reaches of the UP of Michigan is at 57 currently. Whilst Phoenix sits at 110 and on their way to 114-115 today. Las Vegas makes a run at 113 today…. Currently Death Valley is baking at an impressive 125 degrees and I see them taking at run at 128 today!!! Ouch!
