Clash of Greenland cold/Tropical warmth to intensify jet reinforcing Atlantic’s rule over UK

The past weekend saw the atmosphere’s battle for Britain with Atlantic low pressure trying to push in while Scandinavian high pressure tried to push it back. No single system won in the end as we got a mixed bag for the Sept weekend.

While enjoying 23C in the Southeast of England Saturday, we start this week quiet with high pressure in charge but the Atlantic gains ground again by midweek.

With Maria driving tropical warmth, moisture and energy north and low pressure coming off Greenland driving arctic air south, the clash over the mid latitude Atlantic shall result in a strengthening jet stream over the Atlantic and thus reinforce the Atlantic hold on Northwest Europe long term pattern.
