After dumping more than 50 inches of snow on Colorado’s High Country last week, the very same system is now focusing potentially record breaking snow across Northern Ontario.

The latest run of the ECMWF prints out an impressive 12-18″ across a broad area of Ontario with 24″ bulls eye. Significant cold of arctic origin is now feeding into the Northern Tier of the US in the storm’s wake and this combined with wrap around moisture could support snow flakes flying anywhere from Minnesota all the way east into the Northeast.

The model even has it trying to snow into the west suburbs of Big Cities of the Northeast.

This dry arctic air will produce a frost or freeze possibly down to Oklahoma, Missouri, Tennessee and the mountains of the Carolinas.

Also note the undercutting negative into California. This shows an active southern jet which if still around into May, well that’s pretty unusual since heights naturally begin building and systems get forced north into the pac northwest
