Scotland
It was a fairly warm, humid weekend just gone with temperatures reaching a respectable 23C in Aberdeen. Today it’s been largely cloudy but staying mild and humid with highs peaking at around 18-21C. Tonight will see the cloud and mid thicken and it will be a murky night to come with lows only dipping by 2 or 3C.
Tomorrow start’s off rather grey and gloomy with rain will be minimal with drizzle over the hills. Cloud should break through the afternoon, allowing some sunny spells to filter through and where the sun shines, expect highs of 17-21C. The sunshine looks to be confined to central and southern areas.
A front sags south Wednesday increasing the chance of rain, turning cooler in the north.
England
It’s a quiet end to what has been a quiet, warm and humid past weekend and through this evening it’s a mix of sun and cloud with the best of the sunshine east of the Pennines as well as across the South Coast with temperatures holding nicely in the 19-21C range up to 7pm. Through tonight and where skies remain clear, fog will rapidly form and this, like in recent morning’s will became an issue when driving to work in the morning so do take extra time.
Through the morning, cloud, mist and fog should lift for most areas but we may still have some cloud lingering and in contrast to yesterday, it looks like more eastern areas will see the most cloud, sunniest weather in the west. Highs will warm up nicely, especially in the sunshine. Highs 18-21C.
By Wednesday thicker cloud and light, patchy rain will push south from Scotland ahead of an approaching front but this will be a weak affair. The most noticeable aspect to this feature will be the much fresher air dropping south with it.
Wales
It’s been a splendid late September day across much of Wales with some patchy cloud cover here and there but temperatures have warmed very nicely with low 20s for most. Tonight will see cloud reform and where skies stay clearer expect fog to form and this could cause issues with the Tuesday morning commute. Lows overnight stay very mild for the time of year at between 13-16C.
Tuesday starts off foggy and cloudy but through the morning as the sun rises high in the sky, expect the cloud and fog to burn off leaving a largely dry, sunny and warm day with highs once again climbing to between 20-23C.
It turns a little cloudier and cooler with a slight rain chance in the north on Wednesday. Drier, brighter and warmer in the south.
Northern Ireland
It’s a warm start to the new week with plenty of sunshine, especially in the west, always that bit cloudier in the east but wherever you are, it’s been warm and muggy. Tonight will see cloud for most with fog forming where any clear spells are. Overnight lows hold up to nearer the average daytime high for this time of year at 13-15C.
Tomorrow will be another pleasant day with good spells of sunshine and there should be more in the way of sunshine over more eastern parts, a touch cooler than today but still rising to between 18-21C.
A touch fresher with a chance of rain come Wednesday as a front drops south into the far north. Feeling a good deal cooler.
Ireland
It’s a quiet, even benign start to the week right across the Republic with mild, muggy air in place but that comes with a lot of cloud and it’s been rather cloudy today but with little rain to speak of. Tonight stays mild at 13-16C but it stays cloudy and where skies clear, expect dense fog formation.
Tuesday will be a near repeat of today with a lot of cloud around but we could see some sunshine, particularly in the Midlands and north through the late morning and afternoon. A touch cooler than today at 18-22C but well above the seasonal norm for late Sept.
Come Wednesday and there’s little change although cooler air will begin working south with an increasing shower risk. Staying mainly cloudy but dry and mild in the south.
