Scotland Today has becomes the warmest day of 2013 with Strathallan reaching 29C, surpassing yesterday’s value of 27.6C recorded in Glasgow. But today, for many is in fact warmer than yesterday by a degree or two and you may find it uncomfortable. The heat will linger long into the night with gradually cooling overnight, back toward this morning’s […]
It was a very warm day by Northern Irish and Scottish standards yesterday with high twenties recorded at both Glasgow and Castlederg, Tyrone yesterday. That reading of 29.5C in Castlederg was in fact just 1.3C away from the all-time record for the country and so that was a very impressive reading indeed. With a balmy start to […]
Scotland Today marks Scotland’s warmest day of the year and what a cracker it was with widespread 24-26C readings with Glasgow reaching at least 27.6C. The wall to wall sunshine will continue long into this mid-summer night and so the heat shall linger with readings not dropping below 21C perhaps till 9pm for many of the towns […]
Looks like it topped out at around 30C this afternoon in Hurn, Dorset and Heathrow Airport, 24 to 26C across Central Scotland, 28C in Cardiff and around 24 to 26C over parts of Northern Ireland and the Republic. There is plenty more heat to come tomorrow after a balmy night which may be a touch uncomfortable for sleeping. Get use to it because […]

It’s been a hot and humid past few days along the Eastern Coastal Plain thanks to the Bermuda high building westward. In the last 3 days, highs have persistently risen into the low 90s from Richmond, VA up to Boston, providing classic hot, hazy and humid weather for the 4th of July holiday’s and that heat looks set […]
Today’s sunshine and warmth is something we can all get use to with little change in our developing pattern all the way through till at least next weekend. The latest models do suggest a frontal boundary sits close to the Scottish North Coast which could suggest cloudier, cooler conditions across the Highlands at times early next week […]
Scotland Today saw a west-east split with stubborn cloud lingering in the West and particularly Northwest where outbreaks of rain have been on and off while further east it’s been sunny and therefore warm from Aberdeen down to Edinburgh. Into tonight and cloud thickens in the West as another system approaches, set to bring rain […]
