Scotland
After several days under brilliant sunshine, skies clouded over this afternoon thanks to the presence of a weak front, this will keep the cloud over most areas tonight into tomorrow and so overnight lows should hold slightly above freezing.
During Friday, the best of the bright or sunny skies will be largely confined to the east from Aberdeenshire down to the Borders, perhaps extending through south Lanarkshire and Dumfries and Galloway, here we may get to 10 or 11C, elsehere, despite the cloud it will warm to between 7-9C which is above normal for March 1.
The settled theme continues into the weekend with the best chance of rain up across the far north. Elsewhere it’s a mix of sun and clouds.

England
Today was another fine, dry and sunny day for a large part of England with temperatures warming to 13C in Keswick following a cold -7 at nearby Shap but through tonight clouds fill in and this should keep overnight temperatures above freezing. A few spots could see breaks with a frost developing but nothing like what was observed this morning across a wide area.
Tomorrow will start off largely overcast with perhaps some light drizzle over the hills but as the day wears on, so the cloud should break from Cumbria down to Warwickshire but like today, cloud looks to stubbornly hang on across the south from Cornwall to Kent. Highs 7-10C.
This weekend should bring a mix of sun and cloud, mild temps and little in the way of rain.
Wales
After a fairly pleasant day across Wales, tonight will bring a mix of cloud and clear skies and this will help develop mist and fog and where skies stay clear, a frost is likely. Friday promises to be a day of sun and cloud with mild temps of 6-9C. The weekend is looking good and dry with again, a mix of sun and cloud.
Northern Ireland
Today was a largely fine, dry and bright day with good spells of spring-like sunshine, this will set the stage for a cooler night than the past two with a chance of light frost developing, however skies are likely to fill with cloud once again so temps rise by dawn. A cloudier day tomorrow with some sunny spells here and there, temps rise to average or slightly above at 7-10C.
A mix of sun and cloud brings a decent weekend ahead, staying mild and dry.
Ireland
Ireland is very much dominated by a mix of cloud and bright or sunny spells. Temps by night are falling away to 1-2C but where skies are clear, below freezing with frost developing. By day, the temp profile is a uniform 7-9C but some may see 10, perhaps 11C where the sun shines longest.
Another cool one tonight with a mix of cloud and clear spells, watch out for mist and fog. A mix of sun and cloud for tomorrow, highs again range from 7-9C, staying dry through the weekend.
