Scotland
There was a distinctly spring-like feel to the air today with a nice warmth of that sun, hope you made the most of it as we won’t feel that for quite some time beyond today. Cold and frosty will be the theme during the first part of the night but clouds and a breeze picks up overnight out of the east as a cold front pushes east to west across Scotland.
Tomorrow is a much duller affair with a lot of cloud around and the wind will feel cold. Highs manage only 3 or 4C in the east, 5-6C in the west. It turns progressively cooler Thursday towards the weekend with snow showers possible for eastern areas.[s2If current_user_can(access_s2member_level1)]
England
Hope you have enjoyed and made the most of the recent spell of mild and sunny weather. It sure has been terrific to see. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end and through tonight, while western areas see frost beneath clear skies, cloud and a breeze pushes in off the North Sea. This will cross the country east to west through Wednesday and it will be a largely cloudy day Wednesday with a few breaks across inland parts. Temperatures well down with eastern coastal areas perhaps only ‘warming’ to 2C and with a 5-10 mph breeze blowing in from the ESE, it sure will feel cold. Western areas may warm to nearer 7C.
A cold Wednesday night into Thursday makes way for a colder day with a lot of cloud, highs only reach 2-4C and with a stiff SE wind, wind chills may hold at between -2 and -6C throughout the day, especially along the east coast and over hills. The coldest weather looks to set in this weekend for England.
Light snow showers are possible along the coast but this won’t amount to much.
Wales
Hope you enjoyed that glorious spell of weather in recent days. Things change quite dramatically beyond tonight. A clear, cold and frosty night is ahead but through the second half of the night, skies cloud over from the east and this advances across Wales through Wednesday morning. A breeze also picks up and it will feel distinctly more February-like once again tomorrow. Highs range from 5C in the westto 7 or 8C in the west.
A cold night to come tomorrow night and a colder day ahead for Thursday with highs only rising to a mere 3-4C, factor in a stiff SE wind and it feel more like freezing or below all day.
The coldest weather sets in this weekend.
Northern Ireland
After a glorious day of bright, unbroken sunshine, those clear skies make way for a cold and frosty night to come. Changes arrive tomorrow morning and cloudier skies roll in from the east and along with that comes a pick up in wind. Highs still rise to around 8C but it will feel colder as the day wears on.
Another cold night to come tomorrow night and a much colder day by Thursday with NI-wide temperatures only getting up to 3-4C, factor in a stiff SE wind and it feels more likely freezing.
Ireland
A clear, cold and frosty night to come widely across Ireland and tomorrow looks largely fine, dry and fairly bright with temperatures comparable to today at 7 or 8C. Change comes to Ireland Wednesday night as a front pushes across the country from the east, this will introduce much colder air which much of the UK will see by tomorrow. This means highs by Thursday only warm to around 4 or 5C, coolest in the east, mildest in west and with a stronger breeze in the east, a distinct wind chills sets in. It turns a lot colder still by Friday into the weekend with highs in Dublin and Cork only warming to 2-3C with an odd flurry possible in places.
