While many of you have enjoyed a winter wonderland over the past week to 10 days, I lived in one of the only mainland UK snow holes. Except for coastal areas and a few other inland spots, we were one of the few to have bare ground and honestly, it wasn’t all that cold due to the persistent cloud cover. So yes, although the UK has had some decent winter weather, for those living in the western central belt, it was dissapointing.

All this was up until the early hours of this morning as the much anticipated frontal system came in off the Atlantic, brought rain initially but as you can see, it has produced somewhat of a decent snow event. yaay.
This is too little too late as by either later today or certainly tomorrow, all this is gone. Heavy rain, mild winds, cloud will be back in play and quickly eating away at the UK snow cover.
Will have more within the hour on what lies ahead from this weekend all the way through February!
