Direct Debit Subscribers: We’ve had some teething problems…

Recently, markvoganweather.com added the payment provider, GoCardless, to our payment options to allow our subscribers in the UK to join by Direct Debit instead of using PayPal. We’ve experienced some teething issues from our side, which has caused these direct debits never to have been set up.

Who’s affected?

This issue will affect any member that tried to subscribe via direct debit on or before 25th November 2012.

Our mistake!

When you join a subscription plan using direct debit, you are sent to the GoCardless website to enter your payment details and then sent back to markvoganweather.com. At this point, our web site should confirm your payment as accepted and then the direct debit is set up, as well as your account being upgraded to Premium Member.

Unfortunately, there was an error on our part that meant when you were sent back to markvoganweather.com, your payment was never accepted which means the direct debit is automatically cancelled for your security. This mistake was completely on the fault of markvoganweather.com and does not undermine the credibility of GoCardless.

There is absolutely nothing to worry about as your payment details were entered securely on the GoCardless web site and you have never been charged any subscription fees by Vogan & Sumal Partnership – the owner of markvoganweather.com. What it does mean, however, is your membership will never have been upgraded to Premium Member as no payment was ever received.

Let’s get it sorted

To resolve this issue, if you would like to subscribe via direct debit, please sign in and then visit the Join a Subscription Plan page and complete the process of creating a direct debit again. You will be able to log in to GoCardless using the sign up details that you created before.

We know that this is an inconvenience but please accept our sincere apologies and rest assured that we have investigated this problem and resolved the underlying issue once and for all. I would also like to assure you that your payment details have been stored securely by GoCardless and have not been exposed to any one, including Vogan & Sumal Partnership.
