RED WARNING!
HURRICANE-FORCE WINDS OF 75 TO 90 MPH TO BRING WIDESPREAD DISRUPTION ACROSS SCOTLAND ON THURSDAY
Check out the Facebook page where you will be frequently updated throughout tomorrow’s wild weather across Scotland
“My concerns over a significant damaging windstorm was raised back in mid summer”
A deepening area of Atlantic low pressure will cross Northern Scotland during Thursday, as it does so, severe gale-force winds will cross the country with potentially the strongest core of wind funnelling through the Central Belt from lunchtime onwards onwards. This is of major concern given the majority of the Scottish population reside in this area. Hurricane-force winds which may top 80 mph widely with even gusts to 90 mph will deffinately cause major travel disruption as well as structural damage and some power loss.
I would’nt venture out tomorrow if you don’t have to!!
