>Todays Extremes here at the house
High 36 degrees (1.30pm) Low 18 degrees (6.27am)
RAIN/SNOW: None
Snowcover 1-2″ (Approx)
The transition of an old year into a new displayed overnight clear skies and lighter winds from the previous day, these conditions combined with snowcover brought the first morning lows down to the teens in the area since Christmas Eve. After a crisp start to a New Year, the temperature rose remarkably fast from it’s 6.27am low of 18 to as mild as 34 degrees as of 11am with a strong wind and cloud cover which suggests the possible passage of a warm front into the area.. It remained mild throughout the day under mostly cloudy skies but once again like over recent days, a strong and cold NW wind brought windchills below freezing all day which made for little enjoyment in the 36-degree high, the mildest since a high of 40 degrees back on Dec 17.
