After the near silence over the Atlantic in July and through much of August, we’re approaching the peak of the 2018 Atlantic Hurricane Season and dealing with a tempest. Florence (as expected) has underwent rapid intensification over the bath-tub warm waters of the Western Atlantic. Florence has went from 75 to 130 mph within 24 hours.

A healthy inner and outer core embedded within a near perfect atmosphere and over 85 to 86F allowed for this rapid intensification explosion of energy and she may not have peaked yet either.

Mandatory evacuations begin at noon today for the Outer Banks as more or less all forecasts now point to a major landfall late this week somewhere between South Carolina and Virginia.
