At UCLA in the Westwood district of Los Angeles it hit 111 degrees surpassing it’s previous all-time record of 109 set back in September 1939.
Downtown LA topped 108 degrees, failing to reach the all-time record of 113 degrees set in September 2010.
While Downtown may not have reached it’s heat benchmark, several surrounding sites did including Burbank hitting 114 degrees, Van Nuys 117 degrees, Ramona 117 degrees, Santa Ana 114 degrees, Riverside tied it’s record of 118 degrees.
