It’s been a scorching open to July 2018. The heat which engulfed the entire Eastern US this past week first impacted the Great Basin and Rockies. Denver reached 105 degrees tying their all-time record. Nearby Colorado Springs hit 100, Cheyenne, WY hit 99. Both cities missed their all-time record by just 1 degree.
Along with daily, monthly and even all-time record highs/lows, several eastern Canada and Northeast US cities are also experiencing one of their longest heatwaves on record.
The heat, particularly in New England is being enhanced by abnormally dry conditions.
