An active tropical Pacific with currently EIGHT systems spinning is transferring tropical energy into the North Pacific/North Atlantic jet stream and in turn we’ve seen significant cooling in our northern oceans and continents as a result.

Check out just how much the northern Pacific and Atlantic has cooled thanks to enhanced jet/cyclone activity in response to heat energy lifting north out of the Tropical Pacific.

The push of modifying oceanic air has helped cool the continents. Yesterday’s 2m temperature anomaly chart shows the effect of onshore winds blowing off a cool ocean.

Note the similarity in both northern Pacific and Atlantic SSTA now.

Coincidence or no coincidence, the global temperature has taken a dip.
