Cloud and onshore wind brought an unusual July afternoon temperature profile across the UK yesterday. Onshore winds blowing off a cool North Sea combined with cloud really supressed temperatures from Kent right the way up to Caithness. In the sunshine of the West however it was a glorious summer’s day with 23 to 25C achieved from the Southwest of England up through Wales, Glasgow and West Highlands.
You don’t often see a mere 15C just north of London and 25C in Tyndrum.
