It’s been an interesting past weekend of weather with varying wind direction bringing various weather. While the UK has been under the gun of a biting easterly wind which brought snow from Shetland to Kent, SSE winds drove temperatures over 16C widely across Iceland. Meanwhile down in the typically tranquil Canaries, an Atlantic depression with the support of a powerful overhead subtropical jet stream brought damaging winds, battering waves and heavy rain.
