It’s late tonight into Friday that things really fire up as a secondary low forms off Cape Cod and sees a 24mb pressure drop before reaching the mid Maine coast tomorrow afternoon.

As this coastal low winds up, so winds crank to gale-force and with a moisture stream sweeping up the coast and over the Gulf Stream, it wouldn’t surprise me if favoured upslope areas of New Hampshire and Maine pick up 30+ inches from this.

Expect blizzard conditions over southern New Hampshire and west/central Maine as winds gust 50-60 mph.

Let’s not forget the lake effect. Bitter NW wind crossing warm lakes = major snowfall and blizzard conditions!
