Snow Blankets Parts Of Scotland While Tornadoes Hit Parts Of England And Wales

It’s been a weird and wacky week of weather. We commenced the week with night lows of 14C and afternoons up to 17C, now it’s icy wind, rain, sleet and snow showers. Unusual? No but tornadoes?

Blame a late November strength cold front driving into an unusually warm, humid air mass. Doesn’t take much within the heavy rain bands for arching and spin up to occur.

Nasty weather this afternoon across much of Wales and the Midlands.

Some intense cells now pushing into the East Midlands and Humberside, note the arch in precipitation shield.

With clearing skies and a cold base in place, effect a widespread ice risk overnight tonight and another cold one through tomorrow.
