Meanwhile the warmth is not just confined to the Lower 48 but all the way to Alaska’s Arctic coast. Looks like Barrow has comfortably surpassed their old record for no daytime maximum temps below freezing this late and may well have for no snow cover yet either. According to Rick Thoman of the NWS in Fairbanks, only 1998 has seen no snow as of Oct 11. This was yesterday’s view. Oct 13!
