Scotland Enjoys Warmest ‘Early May’ Day In 15 Years, Warmest In 26 Years For N Ireland?

BREAKING: 26.1C on the Isle of Skye makes today the warmest for ‘early May’ in 15 years for Scotland and warmest May day on record here! Castlederg, Northern Ireland has edged up to 24C, if it makes it to 25C, this would be the warmest for ‘early May’ since 1990!

All four UK nations enjoyed their warmest day of 2016 yesterday.

Not often can we boost warmer and indeed drier conditions than the Canaries.

It was a cool and rather rainy Sunday in Costa Adeje, Tenerife.

Sunday saw temperatures reach 28C on the north coast of France near Calisle, 27C once again in the Netherlands and 25C way up into central Sweden while the interior of Spain struggled at between 12-15C.

For Scotland and Northern Ireland, we should be warmer today with a largely cloudless and milder start than yesterday. Cooler in SW England and Wales as cloud and rain lifts north.

No change to late week and weekend solution. Looks to remain reasonably dry but air flow reverses from warm continental to polar!
