A system pushing in off the Pacific during this week will re shape the US upper pattern bringing a trough back to the West while ridging builds into the Great Lakes. Just need to watch for undercutting lows crossing from Southwest into Texas as flooding rain and severe weather looks to become an increasing threat.

Tired of winter weather? Thought I would show the first 500mb height and temperature anomalies off the Canadian for May through August.

I suspect a hot, dry summer from Rockies to Mississippi given the transition from El Nino to La Nina with hottest mid to late summer.
