The Pacific storm train is ramping up and as systems push into the West, so the thermal gradient sharpens and in turn so will the severe weather an flash flood threat really from Texas to Michigan. It’s also a setup which brings a decent surge of heat up through the Ohio Valley and Northeast.

As cool, dry air and all associated system energy rides over the Rockies, so the Gulf opens up and of course those abnormally warm waters mean enhanced fuel in the form of dew points. This means some significant severe weather potential as well as torrential rainfall that will lead to flash flooding.

As things light up over the central plains and mississippi valley next week, so southwest winds are likely to drive a nice surge of summer up through to OH/TN Valley as well as the East.

Boston is sure to see 70 and may shoot to low 80s with this setup following what could be their latest 70 in some 20 years.
