Mid MS Valley, Mid-Atlantic Get Biggest Snow Of Winter, -20s F Ahead For KY, WV?

Written by on February 17, 2015 in United States of America, Winter 2014/15 with 0 Comments

For the Mid-Atlantic, it was all about the cold yesterday AM while this AM it’s all about the snow and the biggest snow (and ice) system of winter. After a uniform 3-6″ accumulation, the system is now exiting the DC-Baltimore and Philly area and pushing up through North Jersey and NYC.

Here was a radar view from overnight showing the size of the system which crippled Nashville, TN with up to half an inch of ice yesterday.

NYC and Philadelphia should take another run at 0 with this next air mass. Even DC may get close thanks to the fresh snow cover.

The current cold is now really icing up the Great Lakes after a slow start.
