Last winter was the wettest on record for the UK. We can all remember the bombardment of one storm followed by the next.
This year, as expected has been quite different. According to new stats from the Met Office, January 2015 was near average temperature wise and more interestingly it was 5th sunniest.

Little rain is expected with this anticyclone dominance. It will tend to be cloudier since it’s an oceanic origin high which tends to contain more moisture but it will bring little in the way of proper rain.
Depending upon February’s second half, if the dry look was to continue, it wouldn’t surprise me if this turns out to be a top 5 dry February and this may lead to other things later down the road.
