Latest: ‘Blizzard of 2015’ Starting To Crank

The models are going back and fourth with snow totals. As of now, it appears the focus of heaviest snow is north and east of NYC. While NYC may fall short of it’s all-time record (26.9″ set in Feb 2006), Boston which topped 27″ with the Blizzard of 2003 may come close.

No question, this thing will all but shut down the most populated urban corridor in the country (30 million) if models prove correct.

Winds are going to howl out of the NE with gusts topping 55 to 65 mph causing some damage and coastal flooding from Cape May perhaps up to Maine.

ECMWF surface. Note the low doesn’t bomb out till early Tuesday morning. That’s when bands really intensify, winds howl and blizzard conditions truly kick in.
