No change in models and my opinion regarding next week’s solution for UK. Low dives south and colder air pushes in from the ENE bringing snow to some. See yesterday’s write-up and video for all the details. In this post I want to show you the prospects of the February pattern. There’s good news and I guess […]
Given this wild and extremely amplified pattern over North America right now, it’s no real surprise that we have a very weird, wacky and ‘upside down’ weather pattern. To put it into perspective, the temperature is currently 33 at both Fairbanks, AK and New Orleans, LA where there’s a rain, sleet, freezing rain mix currently with treacherous travel […]

Modelling remains consistent with the ‘wintry’ solution to next week and while some should see snowfall across the UK and Ireland, there will always be those who remain disappointed. Next week’s coming of snow and cold has been outlined here since back last weekend and there’s really no more to add. Ironing out the details […]

We have a wild and complex winter pattern across the United States right now with one piece of energy after the next swinging around the HUDSON BAY VORTEX which by the way is a permanent wintertime feature but the only difference this year is, it’s a little more ‘loose’ than normal. Every 4-8 years, this ‘polar […]

Well the snowstorm of yesterday has passed and what an impressive system it was. It was a record breaker for several spots including Philadelphia and New York where 13.5 and 11.5 inches fell respectively. Points just south of Boston saw upwards of 18 inches. Here is the snow totals chart from AccuWeather. Bitter cold enveloped […]
