We have two very interesting weather events coming up next week despite a lot of the focus in some circles being about the ‘warm-up’. 1) We’ve a SNOWSTORM coming to the Northeast… warm-up right? and 2) more significant rain will effect a large swath of California.

Unfortunately this is a very brief write-up tonight. To be honest, I am a little beat as I’ve been on the road much of today and it’s now 1.15 on Saturday morning and I’m about to have dinner. Yes, dinner.

Here’s the 500mb height anomaly perspective. Notice all the above normal heights but trough in the east will keep it cold.

Latest snow chart through 168 hours. That’s an impressive amount of snow for the interior.
