To expand a little on last night’s brief post, it looks as though we have a decent Nor’easter set to impact the Northeast late next week. The first which may bring some snow to the high elevations of Pennsylvania and New England but before we get there, a chilly high settling into the region late weekend could make for a cold start to the new work week ahead of a wet, windy, possibly snowy end.

As for later next week, the ECMWF develops and deepens a low off the Delmarva to at least 992 with gusts reaching 45kts on the coast Thursday.

Flooding rain and some coastal flooding may also be an issue with gales stretching from the southern Delmarva up to Maine.

The significant increase in Northeast snow between day 7 and 10 isn’t so much linked with the Nor’easter but more that trough which follows! Boy wouldn’t this be interesting!
