The ECMWF surface map at 24 hours shows high pressure bringing the chilly morning’s and pleasant, sunny days while low pressure and cold northerly winds on the backside bring snow to northern Sweden.

It’s chilly here too this morning beneath that high. Clear skies and light winds allowed lows to widely dip to between 3-6C overnight.
By Tuesday, the high get’s kicked SE into France while a front brings wet weather back into Scotland while a trough and chilly air descends over Scandinavia. Some cold late September night’s to come up there.

UK still looks on track for Atlantic door opening up as seen below but I must say I’m impressed with the chill diving south to our north east. Heights line down to 522 over northern Scandinavia in September is impressive!

Bit of a shift in the latest NAO projections with positive now on the table. This would support more UK and Western ridging.
