New England Frost, Hard Freeze Tonight

Written by on September 18, 2014 in United States of America with 0 Comments

Thanks to a big, cool and dry Canadian high, clear skies and light winds will bring another cold September night to the valleys of New England and Upstate New York.

This very low dew point air will certainly help with the overnight cooling process. Note the 20s, even 10s in northern NY.

We could see the first 10s around the Saranac Lake area of NY tonight.

GFS 2-metre temps Friday AM.

While I’m on the subject of cold tonight, I may as well show you this interesting graphic which shows near record cold Lake Superior water temps (for time of year). This is likely a by-product of last year’s cold winter and may help form ice early this upcoming winter.
