THU 21 NOV: UK & IRELAND REGIONAL FORECAST

Written by on November 21, 2013 in United Kingdom & Ireland with 0 Comments

Scotland

It’s a much calmer night out there compared to this time last night. However, clear and calm also means cold and tonight will likely be the coldest thus far. Expect a widespread hard frost with towns and cities down to -2 or -3C but in rural areas, don’t be surprised if your car dash is reading -5 or -6C in the morning. You’ll need to allow extra time for your car to thaw out.

While tonight’s on track to be the coldest, tomorrow is likely to follow suit with temperatures struggling to get much above 2 or 3C. Where any fog which forms overnight lingers, don’t expect to get above 0C. Cloud will encroach from the north to all parts later in the day. Could be a touch milder tomorrow night at -2 to 2C, a lot colder where skies are clear.

Cloudy, cold Saturday, highs 3-5C.

England

It’s been a blustery, chilly, showery day across much of England and tonight, showers ease becoming mainly confined to the Southeast. The breeze should keep on going for many, especially along the North Sea coast down towards East Anglia. That means temperatures stay above freezing overnight. Lows 2-5C, feeling cold in the breeze though.

Friday looks to be a decent day with some chilly sunshine on offer. Showers should be largely confined to the Southeast where the breeze will remain fresh. Highs 4-8C.

Chilly with frost tomorrow night and during Saturday it’s looking largely dry with some sunny spells. Staying cool.

Wales

Today has been breezy with showers working south through the day, feeling cool in the breeze. Tonight will see a mix of cloud and clear spells, where the skies stay clear the longest, so temperatures drop to freezing, elsewhere 1 or 2C for the low.

Friday looks to be a fine day overall with a mix of sun and cloud, less shower activity but staying chilly with highs of 5-8C.

Tomorrow night turns mostly clear and cold with a widespread frost.

Saturday looks to be the best day with plenty of blue sky but it will struggle to warm after the cold start with highs of just 4 or 5C.

Northern Ireland

With a largely clear sky across Ulster tonight, expect a widespread hard frost with towns and cities dipping to -2C while rural areas could drop as low as -6C.

Friday looks dry and bright but chilly with highs struggling to reach 4C in most places.

A mix of sun and cloud Saturday, staying chilly.

Ireland

Clear and cold across most of the Rep this evening with lows dipping to between -3 and 1C, perhaps -5C locally through the Midlands.

Bright, sunny but not particularly warm Friday, a few showers dotted around but they’ll be few and far between.

More frost and chill tomorrow night. Turning cloudy be settled and chilly on Saturday.
