Scotland
The winds sure have been blowing out there this afternoon, the good news is they should ease through this evening and overnight but as skies clear and winds fall light, so will the temperatures. Watch out for ice tomorrow morning, especially in the Highlands. Lows -1 to 4C.
Thursday will be a better day with dry, bright conditions but it will be cooler, although with light winds it probably won’t ‘feel’ as cold as today did. Highs 2-6C. With clear skies, light winds and a cold base temp, tomorrow night looks likely to produce a hard frost. Lows widely -2 to -4, locally -6C.
Dry, bright but colder Friday with a slow warm-up after the subzero start. Afternoon highs 0-4C.
England
After a wet, windy and cold feeling day, the showers and breeze continues through this evening and overnight across most areas. That breeze and cloud helping hold temperatures comfortably above freezing tonight. Lows 2-5C.
Thursday will see showers across Cumbria, Northumberland perhaps sinking into Lancashire and parts of North Yorkshire but drier and brighter across the Midlands. Another area of showers will be across the Southeast where winds will remain brisk, blowing in from the North Sea, so it will feel cold here with sleet or snow possible over the Downs for a time. Highs cool at 5-8C.
Thursday night will be cold with a widespread frost.
Friday turns drier and brighter for most but showers and the breeze could well linger over the Southeast corner. Staying chilly.
Wales
The wind and rain of today continues into this evening and overnight. Winds will turn NE and with that breeze, temperatures overnight hold up.
A blustery, showery morning should make way for a drier, brighter and less windy afternoon. Highs 5-8C.
Tomorrow night turns clear and cold with a widespread and fairly hard frost.
Friday, dry, bright and sunny but staying cool at 4-7C.
Northern Ireland
It’s been a very windy, chilly showery day right across NI with gusts of 70 mph along the Down coast. Tonight will see the partial cloud, showers continues but those severe gales should ease down overnight. Lows tonight 3-5C.
Drier, brighter and far less windy during Thursday but cooler, although it won’t feel as cold with the lighter winds. Highs 5-7C.
Expect a hard frost tomorrow night under clear skies and light winds and that sets the stage for a dry, brighter but chilly Friday with highs no better than 5C.
Ireland
It’s a breezy, showery night across the Rep, especially in the North and East. The partial cloud and breeze will help hold temperatures hold up at around 4C tonight.
Thursday looks drier and brighter than today but there will still be a few showers kicking around. Highs 5-8C.
Clearer and colder tomorrow night as a high pressure system builds in. Widespread frost.
Sunny but cold feeling on Friday, highs 4-7C.
