Scotland
It’s a fair end to what has been a better than of late with decent amounts of sunshine and fewer showers although it has felt chilly, especially in the breeze. Through the first half of the night, it will get chilly beneath clear skies but through the second half of the night and cloud thickens, eventually spreading rain west to east. Winds will freshen out of the SW. Overnight lows 2-8C.
No surprise then that Thursday dawns wet, blustery and quite cold for most, except the NE. Conditions improve west to east through the day with perhaps some late day brightness. Temps remain subpar at 11-15C.
Drier, somewhat brighter and slightly warmer Friday.
England
It’s a cool night to come under clearing skies and lighter winds with temps in some rural spots perhaps dipping to around 2 or 3C, widely 5-11C. Through the second half of the night however, cloud thickens in the west and this eventually brings a band of rain accompanied by a fresh SW wind.
Thursday dawns damp across North and Central parts but through the morning into the afternoon the rain spreads right across the country and it could contain heavy pulses at times. Feeling cool, especially in the brisk wind. Highs 13-17C.
Drier, brighter and a touch warmer come Friday.
Wales
It’s a better day across Wales compared to yesterday with bright or sunny spells and just a few fast moving showers. Feeling cool though in the brisk NW breeze, highs of only 13-16C. Tonight will be clear and cool with lows ranging between 6-10C.
By dawn, yet another band of rain is lurking and lapping against the WNW coast and this will spread across the country bringing another spell of rain and stronger winds but this clears through the afternoon and should allow for late day sunshine. Highs a touch higher than today at 14-18C.
Drier, brighter and potentially warmer Friday.
Northern Ireland
It’s a fair end to the day across NI but this won’t last as more wet and windy weather sweeps in from the Atlantic tonight, setting the stage for a poor Thursday morning rush. Overnight lows 6-9C.
So, Thursday starts off wet and windy but the good news is, this system doesn’t hang around and should have cleared out into the North Channel by early afternoon, making for a drier, brighter late afternoon and evening. Highs 12-15C.
A better day to come Friday with rising temps.
Ireland
After a decent day across the country, it turns wet and windy across northern parts tonight while staying drier, less windy and cooler in the South. Lows 6-10C.
Thursday dawns wet and windy in the North, mainly dry in the south but it looks like the rain spreads across all areas through the first half of Thursday but soon clears, making way for a decent afternoon and evening to come with highs of 14-18C.
Friday looks bright with rising temps.
