Scotland

It’s been a warm, muggy afternoon with the best of the sunshine across the South with hazy sun breaking through across the western Central Lowlands too and where that sun was out, highs managed at least 22C.

This evening will see light and patchy rain that’s been hanging west and north of Glasgow spread east while another pulse pushes up from England overnight providing a damp night. Lows will be mild and it will likely feel muggy, misty and murky. Lows of 10-13C.

After a dull, cloudy, murky morning, Friday should see skies should brighten into the afternoon across most areas, feeling cooler, fresher with highs 16-18C.

Wind, rain and much cooler pushes in from the west Friday night into Saturday with highs only managing 12-15C!

England

It’s been a warm and more humid day as cloud has been thicker for many this afternoon and that has both trapped warmth at the surface and produced a muggier feel. That warmth and higher humidity has helped fuel showers and storms through today and into tonight those showers and storms should ease but not dissipate for all, becoming more confined to the Southeast and East Anglia. Mist, murkiness along with light, patchy rain beneath a blanket of cloud for most. Will feel warm with lows no lower than 12-16C.

After a misty, murky start with showers and storms clearing East Anglia, it should be an improving day with sunshine breaking through for but be aware of pop-up showers, perhaps an odd thunderstorm thanks to daytime heating but all in all it’s a fine, dry and comfortably warm at 18-22C. Feeling less humid.

It’s all change Friday into Saturday as an Atlantic system spreads wind and rain across the country along with much cooler air. Highs Saturday only top 17 or 18C. Winds may be gale-force out of the SW.

Wales

It’s been a day of showers and thunderstorms with limited brightness and those showers and storms will continue into the night, dying out for some, while continuing for others. With all the cloud and dampness, expect lows to dip no lower than 10-14C.

After a damp, dreary start, Friday should be an improving picture with temperatures rising into the afternoon towards 20C.

Friday night sees an area of rain along with a strengthening wind and this will be a sign of things to come for Saturday. Wet, windy and very cool weekend to come with highs of just 13-16C.

Northern Ireland

It’s been a cloudy but fairly muggy afternoon with a warm, humid southerly breeze and for some, there has been light and patchy rain. That rain should dissipate through the night with lows dipping no lower than 10-13C and this sets the stage for a brighter day to come Friday with temperature rising to between 16-19C.

Wet, windy and much cooler air pushes in from the Atlantic tomorrow night, setting the stage for an unsettled weekend to come with temperatures only pushing 13-15C Saturday.

Ireland

It’s been a cloudy, damp but mild Thursday across the Republic and tonight will be no different. With all the cloud, mist and mugginess, expect it to feel warm throughout the night with lows dipping no lower than 10-14C.

Friday dawns cloudy and damp but skies brighten through the morning into early afternoon and so with the sunshine, highs should push 20C in the sunniest, sheltered spots.

Make the most of the sun and warmth because big changes arrive by late afternoon as an Atlantic system spreads wind, rain and much cooler air in for Saturday. Highs will struggle to make 13C in spots.
