Scotland
From the southern Highlands down through the Central Lowlands into the Southern Uplands, it’s a fine afternoon with pleasant warmth and highs peaking at around 17-20, locally 21, perhaps 22C. From the southern Highlands on north it’s very different with cloudy skies along with some light and patchy rain. Windiest in the Northwest but breezier than of late for all.
Tonight’s looking largely dry with always an increased shower risk up towards the Highlands and Islands with longer spells of rain spreading in through the night. Clearer across Central and Southern areas. A touch fresher tonight with lows generally 8-11, perhaps 5-6C in the sheltered Southern Uplands.
Thursday is looking fine, dry but despite a somewhat cloudier day across Central and Southern areas, temperatures should push 18-20C and feeling a touch muggy once again. From the southern Highlands on north, it’s another cloudy and damp day, highs much cooler at 11-14C.
Turns more unsettled Friday with countrywide rain/shower risk, some may be heavy, packing thunder and lightning.
England
The warmest temperatures of the year so far we’re reached this afternoon across the London area and it will be a slow cool down tonight with many likely to hold onto 21C well into this evening. Perfect evening to come if your planning a BBQ. Showers look to pep up across the far South through the overnight as disturbed weather from the near continent lifts north. These showers could pack a punch as they have plenty of warmth and humidity to work with. Much of the country however will see a largely fine, dry and quiet night with lows ranging from 9C in the countryside to 17C in central London.
Thursday will see changes compared to today with an increase in cloud along with more shower coverage. Those showers are likely to be heavy, packing localised downpours and these will spread north into the Midlands through the day, but they will be scattered in nature with sunshine in between. The far North looks to remain dry, sunny and warm. Highs will be down on today but remaining above average at 18-23C.
A system sweeps west to east Friday bringing an increased risk of scattered heavy rain, showers and storms.
Wales
It’s a warm, mostly sunny and dry afternoon throughout Wales with temperatures rising beautifully into the low 20s. This sunshine lasts right up until sundown and so it’s a perfect night to come if your hoping for a BBQ with temperatures likely to hold at 21C till around 7pm in Cardiff and Swansea.
Overnight tonight and while your asleep, showers will push in from England bringing the possibility of some thunder and lightning with them as the air will remain warm and humid, helping add buoyancy to the atmosphere. Expect lows to be freshest in the North with lows down to 8-11C beneath clear skies to a balmy 14C in Cardiff.
Thursday is looking quite different with plenty of showers across the country with more persistent and quite heavy rain along the West Coast. This rain may pack localised embedded downpours along with thunder. Highs tomorrow range from 14 to 19C.
Cooler with more rain spreading across the country Friday.
Northern Ireland
It’s been another fine, largely dry and bright day across Ulster but you’ll notice cloud increasing through late afternoon if you live in Western and Central areas, the best of the evening sun holding on in Eastern areas and here is where the best of today’s temperatures will be at around 19, possibly 20C.
Into tonight and rain will spread into Western areas overnight, staying drier in the East. Lows should hold up at around 10 or 11C for most.
Thursday will start off damp in the West and Central areas, drier in the East but the rain further west may try to push towards Belfast into the afternoon, though this feature will be decaying, so a drier afternoon to come in the West. Highs range from 15-19C.
Friday looks set to bring more rain and cloud along with cooler temperatures.
Ireland
After a fine, sunny and warm day with temperatures reaching 19-23C for most, it turns cloudier with an area of rain pushing in off the Atlantic tonight. So, it’s a damp night to come in the West, drier and clearer in the East. Lows dip to between 9-12C.
The weak rain band will attempt to push east through the day but models suggest this feature falls apart before ever reaching the East Coast, however there looks to be an area of rain which pushes into the Southeast through the afternoon. Highs tomorrow under cloudier skies will reach 16-20C.
More rain to come Friday.
