Scotland

Today was less windy and therefore less cold than yesterday with 6C in sunnier Western areas, cooler in the East. Through this evening, while the bulk of the country should loose any cloud that’s worked down from the north, and this will allow for another cold night with a widespread frost, snow showers become frequent up and down the East Coast and these may try to spread into some Central areas overnight providing a fresh covering.

Lows tonight dip to between -2 to -5C in towns and cities, -4 to -8C beneath the clearest skies and where snow lies. We could see another -10 to -12C once again south of Glasgow tonight.

Watch out for icy patches during the morning commute as dampness produced by overnight showers may well freeze with clearing skies.

A slightly colder day to come Wednesday with snow showers and a mix of sun and cloud, highs of 2 to 5C.

England

Another cold night to come with a widespread frost. Lows dip to between 0 and -3C in towns and cities, -3 to -6C widely in outlying areas but don’t be surprised to see -10C across the snowfields of Northern England. Snow showers will work down the East Coast tonight and these could well spread into East Anglia and the Greater London area during tomorrow morning.

Watch out for icy patches during the morning commute as dampness produced by overnight showers may well freeze with clearing skies.

A largely fine and dry day for many except for the ongoing snow showers peppering Southern parts and where those showers are, don’t expect temperatures much above 2-3C whereas under the strong March sunshine, you may enjoy 7C.

Wales

After a slightly less cold day thanks to lighter winds, a widespread frost with lows of -2 to -4C, locally -6 to -8C can be expected tonight. Some showers will blow in off the Irish Sea and this may raise the ice risk for your Wed morning commute into work.

Tomorrow’s another largely fine and dry day with an odd sleet or snow shower, especially in western areas. Highs 3-5C.

Northern Ireland

Following the coldest night of winter with -9C recorded at Lough Fea, today is a largely fine, dry day with good spells of March sun. Feeling fairly pleasant in the sun but any breeze makes it feel cold. Tonight will be another cold night though not as cold thanks to an increase in shower activity. Snow showers will become fairly widespread overnight and so you may find yourself waking up to a fresh covering tomorrow morning. Lows range from 0 to -3C, locally -5C where skies remain clearest.

Be aware of ice on your way to work!

Tomorrow’s another fairly decent day with showers easing giving way to brighter, drier conditions. Highs 4 to 7C.

Ireland

After a fairly decent day country-wide with temperatures up on recent days thanks to less of a feed from the continent. Clear skies tonight mean another cold, frosty night to come with lows ranging from 1 to -4C, showers will be scattered and hit or miss with a mix of rain, sleet, hail or snow.

Tomorrow, like today will be largely fine, mostly dry with sunny spells. Highs range from 5 in the North to 8C in the South.
