Enjoy this final day of near wall to wall sunshine as the upper ridge overhead backs west just enough to allow a weak front to slide south over the country tonight through Thurs. While little precipitation falls, an increase in cloud will be the noticable feature and with more cloud, night temps will be up on recent nights while day temps are slightly down. The remainder of the week will bring a mix of sun and cloud, light drizzle here and there but on the whole dry and fair with highs 6-8C by day, lows by night, +2C where cloudy, -2 to -5C where clear.Turning cooler towards the weekend with more of a NW flow.[s2If current_user_can(access_s2member_level1)]
England
The upper high will build over England ever so slightly over the next 24 hours and this should help bring a little more brightness this afternoon and especially Thurs. Clearer skies tonight will allow for a colder night with a widespread frost from Carlisle down to at least Birmingham. Towns and cities dip to 0 or -2C, rural areas may drop towards -6C in sheltered spots.
Brighter for northern and central parts during Thurs but staying rather grey across the far South from Cornwall to Kent extending up to E Anglia. Where sunny, expect a 2, perhaps 3C increase on the past few days. Highs range from just 5C under the cloud to 10-12C where sunniest and that looks to be Carlisle down through Manchester and towards Birmingham.
Another frosty one tomorrow night where clear. Somewhat cloudier by Friday as the weak front pushes south introducing cooler air from the north for the weekend.

Wales
While it’s another cold, dreary and for some, damp day, conditions improve through this evening as skies clear countrywide and sets the stage for a sunnier, warmer day to come Thurs. Lows tonight dip to between 1 and -3C for towns and cities, perhaps -6C in sheketered rural spots. Highs tomorrow range from 5-6C along the coast to perhaps 10 or 11C in sheltered inland sunny spots.
Another chilly, frosty night to come tomorrow night, somewhat cloudier Friday but more of a mix of sun and cloud. Slightly cooler again this weekend with sun-cloud mix.
Northern Ireland
While the largely dry theme continues, cloudier skies have returned to Northern Ireland with the best of any brightness confined to the north. Cloud by night holds pretty much all just above freezing and by day it’s a degree or two down on recent sunnier days. Following another mainly cloudy night, Thurs remains mostly cloudy with highs of 5-7C for most. It stays dry with a mix of sun and cloud towards the weekend.
Ireland
After a cold and frosty start across a large portion of Ireland, cloudcover will unfortunately dominate skies through today but temps at least hold near average or a little above. Tonight and clouds linger but where skies clear, expect lows down to around freezing with frost. Lows elsewhere down near 1-2C with an odd mist or fog patch developing.
Thursday, Friday and towards the weekend stays largely cloudy with sun peeking through here and there.
