We saw a system bring snow to a decent part of the Mid-Atlantic and interior Northeast last night into this morning and system No. 2 arrives tonight.

Expect a swath of snow to begin over Alabama and spread up through the mountains of Tennessee, the Piedmont of the Carolinas, Virginia, Washington DC, the Delmarva, South Jersey up and across Cape Cod.

Note the bulls eye over the mountains of NC and VA, here, we could see 6-12″ of snow from this system but even across parts of northern Alabama, we may see local amounts of 2-4″.

There will be a significant swath of northern North Carolina, Virginia, the Delmarva, South Jersey and Cape Cod. Expect a widespread 2-4″, locally 6″ covering, including areas such as Richmond and Washington DC.

The snow you see over the interior Northeast is from this morning’s system.

More on next week’s arctic blast later this evening.
