Scotland
It’s been a poor day for Central and southern areas with heavy cloudcover, mist and fog as well as a persistent rain or drizzle. Further north it’s been a much better day with sunshine but winds have been fresh to strong.
Through tonight a front advances south but it’s associated rain band weakens as it drops into the western Central Belt. Further east and it’s drier. Lows 4C in the east, 7 or 8C in the cloudier, wetter west.
Tomorrow will see a largely cloudy day with once again a west-east split. Always wetter in the west, especially the west Highlands, should be drier in the south, north and east. Highs of 8-10C.
England
Following a grey, cool day with a lot of lingering mist and fog across sheltered inland areas, only parts of the east coast have been lucky enough to see some sunshine. This afternoon’s highs are cool at 8-10C, only 5C in the lingering dense fog.
Tonight will see another mostly cloudy night with the development of mist and fog after dark. This cloud may bring some ptahcy drizzle here and there but it’s generally dry.
Tomorrow will be yet another grey day across much of the Midlands and South, however some brightness may break out across northern areas as well as along the east coast once again. During the afternoon, expect cloud to then from the north and rain to spread in on board a stiffening W, SW wind. Highs are cool at 7-10C.
Wales
Today’s a very cloudy day throughout Wales with the exception of the coast. For inland parts, fog may linger all day and where cloud is thick, drizzle is possible. Highs this afternoon range from a cold 5C in the dense fog to 11C on the west coast where the sun shines.
Tonight will be another misty, murky and foggy night for many, just like last night was. Lows in rural areas where the fog is thin and skies are clear, it may dip to 2C. Elsewhere 5-7C.
Tomorrow will be another generally grey day with a lot of cloud and a slow burn off of mist and fog which formed overnight where skies were clearer. Clouds thicken through the PM hours and will see rain become more persistent in the northwest, advamcing southeast through the afternoon. Temperatures rise to a sub-par 8-10C.
Northern Ireland
It’s a dull, damp and dreary day across NI with little or no brightness anywhere. This damp, gloomy theme takes us into tonight with yet more cloud and drizzle with some patchy fog here and there. Highs today range from 7-9C, Lows tonight 4-8C.
Tomorrow will be a near carbon copy of today although rains will turn steady and widespread through the day, thanks to a front working south. Highs 7-9C.
Ireland
It’s been a generally cloudy day with patchy drizzle to be had here and there. Highs have ranged from 8-11C with the best of any brightness restricted to the far south.
Tonight will see those cloudy skies linger and after dark, mist and fog may form where skies may be slightly clearer. Lows tonight 4-7C.
Tomorrow starts off ok with plenty of dry weather, albeit mostly cloudy if not foggy but as the day wears on, a band of rain with an increasing wind will trek south from Donegal. Like today, the best of the brightness will be in the south. Highs tomorrow range from 8-11C with a stronger breeze.
