High Pressure brings mild, settled weather to UK & Ireland, Unsettled weather with wind and rain from Portugal to the Balkans, First cold blast for eastern Europe

Over the next few days we’ll see a cut off low spin spread heavy, thundery showers across Spain, particularly along the east coast, up through the Pyrenees and into southern France underneath the high centred over Germany and Poland. With this cut off low sliding beneath this ridge, this will push the centre of high pressure north and northwestwards and that means sunnier and more settled conditions across the UK and Ireland. Daytime highs return to more seasonal values of 10-11C in north 12-14C in the south.

Beneath stary skies and light winds at night, frost will be widespread with rural areas outwith towns and cities likely dipping to freezing or slightly below. See Mark’s Video here!
