Today was a significant 100 degree day in Houston and Dallas

For Houston, this marked the 45th time of 100 or higher this season, today’s 102 was a record for the date as well as the hottest so late in the season.

For Dallas, the 107 degree high broke a daily record as well as making it both hottest so late in season and hottest Sept day in 11 years. Today also marked day 70 at or above 100. This breaks old record for most 100 degree days in a year which was 69 set in 1980.
