>Todays Extremes here at the house
High 39 degrees (4.59pm) Low 30 degrees (5.49am)
RAIN: Morning and afternoon shower
A generally cool, foggy start with heavy moisture hanging in the air, frost formation was limited but a touch of frost and some ice patches were found in the sub-freezing air. A generally foggy/cloudy day around the Glasgow area, heavier frost over Ayrshire and S. Lanarkshire where skies were clearer overnight. With rising air temperatures around 10-11am but sub-freezing ground, a little ice pellets formed from fripping tree limbs as their frost melted and this liquid dripping, froze instantly on the ground. Little ice pellets lay on the still below freezing ground despite above freezing air. A minature example of freezing rain (explaination in post). It was a slightly cooler day than the past few with the failure to hit 40 degrees. The reign of milder weather continues for now.
