A FROZEN WORLD!!
Florida heading for record Cold tonight and tomorrow night…
Beijing, China may hit it’s all-time coldest reading after crippling snowstorm…
37 below at International Falls, Minnesota brings 3 straight morning to start the new year, coldest opening to a new year in their history…
37 below at Spencer, Iowa, coldest in 20 years…
Longest cold spell in the UK in 25 years and counting after coldest December since 1996…
Just when you thought it couldn’t get much worse, we are, as we are likely plunging into the coldest period so far of this winter. Central belt locations may take a run at -15C tonight and tomorrow night but I am becoming increasingly concerned, this pattern looks to be maturing rather than leveling off or weakening… It’s simple, can we cope with an extreme winter of snow, cold and ice?
Modern Cities such as Glasgow, Edinbugh and London may look and feel more like Moscow these days rather than the balmy locations they have become known more as during the short, warm, wet and windy winters of the last 20 years.
The hybernation of the sun and the flip in natural ocean cycles may be showing us through this winter that it’s payback for spoling us all with warm winters.
I must say, I LOVE winter, but I do think by the time this winter is done, i’ll be ready for warmer weather.. I know no better than global warming. I didn’t live through the harsher winters of the 1960s and 1970s and NONE of us lived through the even more severe winters of the 1800s, my manjor worry is that what we all face in the next 30 years of a colder world is the return to the 1800s and winters that coule test or destroy our technilogically advanced world. Major cities become crippled by fearsome cold waves that all but shut down our nations for a couple of months at a time…
Glasgow and Edinburgh may only wish their “urban heat island” had effect on 20 to 25 below nights and Scottish Highland Glens that tumble into the 30 below range and rewrite the British weather history books.

Loch Lomond, The Thames and Clyde freeze solid like we’re seeing with 9 inch thick ice on Lake of Menteith which I shall be walking along tomorrow, enjoying some real winter I’ve never experienced before and what will help me gather thoughts and imagination to what I shall be experiencing only worse over the next three decades.

Thanks for reading.
