RAIN/SNOW: LATE AFTERNOON SHOWERS, MIX WITH SLEET
The first true winter morning after a night of clear skies and calm winds, which allowed the temperature to drop to the lowest of season, during the overnight the cooling process eased as the skies began clouding over as clouds pushed in ahead of a system from the Atlantic. Not before a widespread severe frost and development of ice could occur where residual runoff from recent floods lay. The clouds that rolled in actually trapped low level cold air and resulted in a stuck reading around 35 degrees all day. The thermomemter remains at 35 and as heavy rains have occured and with such a cool temperature, some sleet has mixed with rain but temps just warm enough for snow not to reach the surface.
