Far northern Alaska even felt the heat with Deadhorse on the Arctic Coast reaching a record 85 while further south it reached the 90s.

While the Yukon and Northwest Territories sweated beneath the upper ridge, further east beneath a downstream upper low, Nunavut actually had record cool.

While Palm Springs, CA sweltered at 121 and Yuma, AZ 118, Phoenix set a new record high yesterday of 116, nearby thunderstorms kept Las Vegas slightly cooler which kept temps below record values.
