As we progress into June, the models have the core of heat centred right where the worst of the drought is. This is coinciding well with my long terms ideas in which at least the front end of this summer will be hottest from the Four Corners to Texas and points north into the Dakotas.

Expect 100s throughout this week from Midland, TX up to west Kansas.

Records are likely to fall with this first heat wave of summer.
