We may be in a milder regime now compared to the beginning of the month and with temps UK-wide hitting double figures, many are being led into a false sense of security.

There’s still a good degree of uncertainty but confidence is growing on a cancellation of spring and an abrupt return to winter with blocking returning. You’ll notice incoming Atlantic lows from the Azores never really progressing across the UK. Why? Because heights are once again building over Scandinavia and cold easterlies look likely to make a return this weekend. The legacy of the SSW lives on!
